Plus | Minus engages in a design process that creates form from ideas. We regenerate spaces by revising design for adaptive reuse of the building shell. “Waste not, want not” attitude extends to architecture by the conversion of an old space into something better suited to contemporary requirements.

Newpost, one of the most popular news site, together with three communication oriented firms -Voiceland, Webjar and Etherland- adhere to four basic principles when it comes to their day-to-day operations: collaboration, openness, community, and accessibility. The goal was to explore the concept of play within collaboration spaces and how these could be manipulated and stretched. Play in the form of collaboration would be cultivated and encouraged. All collaborative zones could not merely be free-for-all space, and still the private offices for the directors of the 3 different coexisting firms, needed structure.

The entrance, facing the main circular core, welcomes you to playful work environment that reinvents office space while boasting a semi-open floor plan with colorful accents. The idea was to create a series of shared spaces -some for alone time, some for two-person brainstorming, some for group collaboration- that employees can flow between. A mix of spaces for different activities was created: reception, private meeting room, open collaboration productive space, relaxing breaks / happy hour room, semi-private casual workspaces, and welcoming copy area.

We challenged our client to maximize the full aesthetic and economic potential of an unconventional workspace. Our interior design experts delivered distinctive, purposeful and inspiring spaces for learning and working. Our visual communication design team offered remarkable solutions to build and maintain a strong identity for each of the three firms, to accord with and facilitate the attainment of any objectives and goals. Mission accomplished!
